COMMERCIAL ROOFING OPTIONS
Houston requires all commercial roofing systems to have at least one layer of white coating. There are four choices for commercial flat roof systems. Each has advantages and disadvantages, which will be briefly covered in their summaries. Although it is your choice on which system to apply, Bella Remodeling and Roofing highly recommends the Hydro-Stop Roofing System
Built Up, Hot Mop, Asphalt applied gravel
This method of flat roofing consists of Hot Tar, layers of insulation paper, and thick layer of gravel. It consists of a large amount of material, which can be costly to hoist such materials such as gravel with a crane up onto the roof with a conveyor. It is labor intensive, however price wise all 3 methods seem to be fairly competitive regarding cost
A Tar Kettle is required to heat up the tar while releasing strong odors. The kettle can be dangerous and messy. Tar may drip out onto parking area, making a mess and an unpleasant lingering odor.
We are diligent in meeting deadlines and dedicated to workmanship beyond your expectations.
Another drawback to the roofing system is that over time the gravel loosens. When a leak occurs, it is difficult to track where the leak is coming from in order to be able to repair it. Since water travels, it may not be necessarily accurate to repair the area directly above the leak. It is a challenge to track the leak and locate the entry area where the water is penetrating into the roofing system.
